NEWS: 04/29/98 Well, as some of you may know, though not
anime related, DVD got a large boost this week with the announcement from
Paramount that they are fully supporting DVD. They have even gone so far to
say that it is NOT a token amount of support, but day and date with upcoming
releases once they get their starting schedule set.
And on more anime related news, Image Entertainment, which brings us the shows
we love from Central Park Media/US Manga, announced today a serious cutback on
prices. They're moving from their 29.99 with no frills to 24.99 with as much
as they are able to gather on titles. While the extras are less likely to
affect anime titles, the lowered prices are a definite boon to us. The price
cut takes effect on ALL unshipped product, which May may titles next week will
be reduced. Will the upcoming Slayers and Iria be reduced? Maybe, but when
they regular 29.99 titles start showing up, they will be cheaper. 24.99 list
means you can get them for 19.99 from most places! NOW THAT IS HOW ANIME
SHOULD BE!

I've finally started my new hours at work, so I can begin devoting a little
more time to the pages here and make a few corrections here and there. I've
updated the quizlet at the bottom... seems someone decided to really put a
push in for Armitage III and managed to squeeze about 100 votes in on it...
lets hope that doesn't happen this time with the new questions.
A few more bits and pieces added here and there, and if you see anything
that needs updating, be sure to let me know!

Hello and welcome to a somewhat more updated Anime on DVD site. I've started
to use some of the services from Bravenet. com ( a really spiffy place ) and
have added some of the more basic features of a lot of sites, such as a guest
book, new hit counter, as well as a web forum which I hope sees some use.
I've also been in touch with Netflix, the new DVD internet rental store. I
think that a partnership with them will be beneficial not only to regular
anime fans, but very much so for those who normally don't watch or have ever
seen any anime. Why buy it when you can rent it for a few bucks? With the
variety of anime that's forthcoming, I think it's a great thing for a lot of
people.
Also added in is a Quizlet at the bottom of the page, below the other new
links. Give it a whirl!

Another month, another couple of announcements from Image Entertainment.
Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer (Rounds 1 and 2) have been announced for one disc,
as well as the movie Big Wars. Both are scheduled for a June-July release...
no firm dates yet though.
I've also monkeyed around a bit with the left menu column, moving the
upcoming titles to their own spot so you can find those quicker. I've also
sorted the reviews alphabetically so when there are a large amount of
excellent titles out, it'll make that easier as well. Think positive!
NEWS: 04/07/98
Ok, the reviews for Tenchi 2 and GitS are finally added in. Starting a new job
always seems to take away from anime time! Ninja Scroll, also from Manga
Entertainment, is now fully slated for a May 19th release. May looks damn good
for anime fans: Ninja Scroll, Slayers, DBZ and Iria if it gets pushed back
into it.
I've also added a new spot for my "editorials" which should be for the most
part infrequent until things pick up even more in the anime dvd land.
NEWS: 04/01/98
I promise, no April Fools stuff on this page today. :) This past week has been
good for anime fans. Ghost in the Shell is now out (I'll be able to review it
soon) as well as Tenchi The Movie 2. Unfortunately, Green Legend Ran got
delayed a week, apparently due to some last minute problem, but we should see
it real soon.
